Manta Bowl Shoal is a coral reef sitting in the middle of the ocean and is subject to strong winds and unpredictable currents from all sides. It is considered to be the best dive site for spotting manta rays due to the large amount of plankton in these waters.

When To Go Diving

The period from December till May is considered more preferable for diving around Manta Bowl Shoal. The air temperature ranges between 27-30C/89-98F, and the water stays around 26-28C/85-92F most of the time.

What to see

The sea floor here is covered with various corals, sponges and gorgonians. Even though manta rays are the main attraction here, this dive site also features various types of sharks including hammerhead and whale sharks, barracudas and groupers. Manta Bowl Shoal also has myriads of small colorful tropical fish, nudibranches, lobsters, shrimps and flatworms hiding between the rocks.
