The SS Kathryn wreck (or Catheryne wreck) is very popular dive site in Ocho Rios. An old Canadian minesweeper was sunk in 1991 to create this artificial reef, which is home to a wide variety of marine life now.

When to go

Diving is possible at this site all year round. The air temperature averages around 26-29C/78-85F. The average water temperature is 26C/79F. The water visibility is around 15m/49ft.

What to see

Squirrelfish, flaming scallops, bluehead wrasses, snappers, sting rays, hamlets, grunts, sergeant majors, lobsters, some black corals and sometimes nurse sharks.
