All about Horn Island dive site

Horn Island sits in the Torres Strait, giving it a far-northern Australian identity shaped by warm tropical water, tides, and island channels. Diving here is less mainstream than Cairns reef diving and should be planned around local operators and conditions.

What to see

Expect tropical reef fish, coral slopes, sponges, sea fans, turtles, rays, and possible wreck or historical features where local sites include them. Strong tidal movement may bring schooling fish and larger predators.

When To Go Diving

Best conditions are usually during the drier, calmer months, roughly May to October. Water is warm year-round, commonly in the mid-20s to high-20s Celsius, while visibility can vary with tide and current.
