HMS Proselyte is the island’s most important historical wreck site, a former Dutch frigate later used by the British Royal Navy before it wrecked on Man of War Shoal in 1801. Today, the site is more of a scattered archaeological reef than an intact ship, giving it a distinctive mix of history, coral, and reef life.

What to see
Cannons, anchors, ballast and scattered wreck remains may be seen, along with hard and soft corals, sponges, reef fish, lobsters, moray eels, rays, and schooling fish.
When To Go Diving
Best from November to May, when conditions are usually calmer and visibility is stronger. Water is generally around 26–29°C, with visibility sometimes reaching around 30 metres.
