All about Heybeli Island dive site
Heybeli Island, in the Sea of Marmara near Istanbul, has a very different profile from Turkey’s southern Mediterranean dive sites. It is more temperate, more local, and generally less about tropical clarity than historical, rocky, and regional marine life.
What to see
Rocky reef, mussels, crabs, small fish, wrasse, gobies, octopus, sponges, and local temperate marine life may be seen.
When To Go Diving
Best in summer and early autumn, when water is warmer and conditions are more comfortable. Water is cooler than the south coast, and visibility is more variable.
