Eagle Rock
Eagle Rock is one of the dive sites in the Great Astrolabe Reef located in Kadavu, Fiji. Diving takes place near the 5 entrances to the enormous reef. It consists of bulges, shallows, narrow passages, pinnacles, and ledges. Eagle Rock is home to a fascinating variety of soft and hard corals. Divers can explore different depths with different types of inhabitants.
When To Go Diving
Kadavu has a typical tropical climate. Winter is from December to April. The average air temperature is 22-26C/71-78F, and the average water temperature is 25-28C/77-82F. The best months to visit are November to March.
What to see
Diving in Eagle Rock is a spectacular experience, because the underwater world has the whole spectrum of colors. Divers can observe impressive pale blue branching acrapora, mustard corals, green lettuce leaf corals, violet wartyfinger corals, gray sheet corals, and brown table corals. Lots of marine species can be spotted in between the corals, such as grouper, wrasses, pelagic fish, reef minnows, hawkfish, and butterflyfish.
