Scuba diving in The Zoo

The Zoo is a part of the Rainbow Reef that extends from Vanua Levu out to Somosmo Straights, near Taveuni, Fiji. This site is more suitable for advanced divers.
When to go
April through October is the main diving season, with July and September having the best visibility. Water temperature stays around 28C/82F during this period . Visibility is good, 10-30m/32-98ft.
What to see
The site is a pelagic heaven: schools of barracuda, trevally, moral eels, groupers, white tip reef sharks and bronze whaler sharks can be spotted here (usually on an incoming tide) and also small reef fish like butterfly, angelfish, fusiliers and parrotfish are plentiful. Some hard and soft corals can be seen here as well, turning this site into a photographer’s dream.
