San Miguel Island
San Miguel Reef is a dive site around Dauin that starts at the same sandy slope as San Miguel Tires does. Then the site leads to a sloping coral reef full of hard and soft corals of all types, colors and shapes. This reef is famous for its beautiful macro photography and is full of numerous tiny creatures. There is not that much current and it is easy to dive.
When To Go Diving
Even though January through May seem to be better months for diving around San Miguel Reef, the site offers numerous opportunities throughout the whole year. The air temperature is often around 25-26C/77-79F, but the water gets even warmer reaching 26-28C/79-82F.
What to see
This dive site is a well-known spot for various nudibranches and small critters that come in all colors and sizes. Fish around here include eels, scorpionfish, clownfish, shrimp gobies and frogfish.
