All about Christ of the abyss dive site

Christ of the Abyss is a shallow Belize site centred on an underwater statue, giving the dive a cultural landmark as well as a reef setting. It has a calm, photogenic character, often suited to divers who enjoy easy depths and distinctive underwater subjects.

What to see

The statue is the focal point, surrounded by reef fish, coral heads, sponges, sea fans, grunts, snappers, sergeant majors, and parrotfish. Rays or nurse sharks may appear in nearby sand channels.

When To Go Diving

This type of shallow reef site can be dived year-round in calm weather, with December to May generally clearest. Water is warm, usually around 26–29°C, and visibility is often good when seas are settled.
