Located 25km/15mi from Playa del Carmen, Chikin Ha Cenote is the first cenote in the system that connects several cenotes through more than 10 km/6mi of underwater passages. This dive site is best suited for CMAS*/OW divers. During this dive at the depth of about 10m/33ft divers can see a halocline, caused by the fresh and salt water mixing together.
When To Go Diving
It is possible to dive Chikin Ha Cenote throughout the year. The average air temperature stays within 25-30C/77-86F. The average water temperature stays around 20C/68F. Water visibility ranges between 10-30m/32-98ft. The deph of this site is about 14m/45ft. There are no currents.
