Scuba diving in Cave Vrbnik

This dive site is immediately near a cove in front of the town of Vrbnik on the island of Krk. The diameter of the entrance to the cave is 4m/13ft, thereby 2 or 3 divers can comfortably enter alongside each other. Divers must be careful not to stir up the sediment on the cave floor. The cave is 25m/82ft long and in the center divers will see a stream of sunlight coming from a narrow siphon, extending right up to the surface. This is a scenic dive where rays of sunlight penetrating the cave provide a breathtaking scene.
When to go
The air temperature is between 22-28C/72-82F during May to September, and the water temperature ranges from 19-25C/66-77F.
What to see
The walls bordering the cave entrance are covered with interesting small cracks and holes, which make ideal hiding places for fish. Here there are samples of large and unusual purple gorgonians at depths between 35-40m/114-131ft.
