Blue Lagoon dive site is located off the east coast of Bali, only 5 minutes boat ride from Padang Bay. Blue Lagoon is actually a small bay with white sandy bottom. Due to its protected location, Blue Lagoon offers easy and relaxing diving for both novice and experienced divers and it is also good for snorkeling. The reef and the coral growth at this site may seem rather unremarkable, however, Blue Lagoon can offer divers a number of interesting surprises. The marine life in surrounding waters is amazing, and often divers can spot a squid, octopus, crabs, eels, sea snakes and many exotic fish species. This is also a site for sharks, including white and black tip sharks and rare cat sharks. Blue Lagoon is a great location for night dives as well.
When To Go Diving
Diving is possible all year round. The water temperature is usually ranging from 25C/77F to 28C/82F throughout the year. However, sometimes during the winter, the water temperature can drop to its minimum of 20C/68F.
What to see
Divers have an opportunity to spot some interesting nudibranchs, stonefish, crocodile fish, octopus, eels, squid and sea snakes. There are also many reef sharks to be seen at Blue Lagoon.
