All about Batu Hitam dive site

Batu Hitam, meaning “black rock,” suggests a volcanic sand or dark-rock site typical of North Sulawesi. It is likely strongest as a macro and critter dive, with small life hidden against the dark seabed.

What to see

Frogfish, nudibranchs, pipefish, seahorses, octopus, shrimps, crabs, scorpionfish, and other muck-dwelling species may be seen.

When To Go Diving

Year-round diving is possible, with visibility often more modest than wall sites. Water is generally around 26–29°C, and conditions are best when surge and rain are low.
