Tiputa Pass is one of French Polynesia’s legendary drift dives, where ocean water rushes into Rangiroa’s lagoon. It is a high-energy site with sharks, dolphins, rays, and dramatic blue-water scenery.
What to see
Grey reef sharks, dolphins, eagle rays, manta rays, barracuda, jacks, turtles, Napoleon wrasse, and sometimes hammerhead sharks may be seen.
When To Go Diving
May to October usually gives excellent visibility. Hammerhead encounters are more likely in the warmer season from roughly January to March, while other pelagic life varies by current and season.
