Thoddoo West
As the name suggests, the Thoddoo West dive site is located at the western point of the island of Thoddoo, southeast of North Ari Atoll, Maldives. The dive site features a colorful coral garden at the shallower depths and a beautiful wall that slopes down to the sea bottom at a depth of around 30m/98ft. There are two ways to dive at this site. Divers can start their dive by exploring the extended areas of coral garden, where they can find many little creatures hiding. Alternatively, divers can jump straight to the deeper sections of the wall, where they can see some big pelagic fish passing by, and at the end of their dive, they will also have some time to explore the coral garden.
When To Go Diving
It is possible to dive at this site year-round, but the recommended time is from December to May, when there is no rain and the water conditions are calmer. The water temperature averages 26-29C/79-84F throughout the year.
What to see
When exploring the coral garden, divers will see a variety of interesting reef inhabitants, including colorful nudibranchs, angelfish, triggerfish, parrotfish, and batfish, while at the deeper sections of the wall, they can see grouper, barracudas, rays, and some reef sharks.
