All about The Caves dive site

The Caves refers to the Dominican Republic’s cavern and cave-style diving, which can include limestone openings, swim-throughs, and freshwater cave systems depending on the region. It offers a very different mood from reef diving, with geology, light, and shadow taking the lead.

What to see

Divers may see limestone chambers, swim-throughs, cave openings, light shafts, freshwater passages, sponges, shrimps, crabs, and small fish near entrances. The main attraction is structure rather than dense marine life.

When To Go Diving

Cave and cavern dives should be planned with local guides and appropriate certification. Sea caves are best in calm conditions, while freshwater caves are less affected by surface weather but require proper training.
