All about Bahêa de las Águilas dive site
Bahía de las Águilas sits in the remote southwest of the Dominican Republic, known above water for wild beaches and a protected coastal landscape. Underwater, the setting is best described as quiet Caribbean reef and sand habitat rather than a heavily developed dive circuit.
What to see
Divers may see coral heads, sea fans, sponges, reef fish, southern stingrays, turtles, parrotfish, wrasse, snappers, and small crustaceans. The appeal is the remote coastal setting as much as the dive itself.
When To Go Diving
The area is best approached in calm weather, with dry-season months generally more comfortable for remote coastal trips. Water is warm year-round, usually around 24–30°C, with visibility often good in settled conditions.
