When to go to Krabi

Krabi is a year-round destination with a tropical monsoon climate. The rainy monsoon season is from May to November.

The high season is between November and May.

The average air temperature ranges from 24C/75F to 32C/89F.

The water temperature is around 29C/84F all year round.

The currents are generally moderate, but can sometimes be strong.

The water visibility varies from 10m/33ft to 30m/98ft.


What to see

Wide variety of marine life: over 200 species of fish and 80 species of corals. Variety of colourful hard and soft corals, barrel sponges, seafans, also sharks, schools of snappers, barracuda, rays, fusiliers, rabbitfish, goatfish and lots of little critters.

Scuba diving in Krabi

The Krabi is a town, which is situated on the west coast of southern Thailand at the mouth of the Krabi River where it empties in Phang Nga Bay. Krabi Airport is located there. The town is the capital of Krabi Province and Krabi District. The districts relies heavily on international tourism which is an important industry here. The town is known for its Khao Phanom Bencha National Park, that is full of scenic waterfalls. Nearby are Huay Sadeh Falls and Khlong Haeng Falls. On the way into the park there is Tham Pheung, a cave with shimmering mineral stalactites and stalagmites. Scuba diving is a must do activity here. Divers can explore drop-offs, swim-throughs, wall dives, caves and caverns, reefs which make the diving experience unforgettable. Krabi offers a multitude of dive sites for all diver levels, all rich with marine life.
