Divers can dive in Sudan year-round. June to September is the hottest time, when the water and air temperatures are 31-33C/78-91F. December to March has the coolest water, varying from 24-27C/75-80F. Visibility is good, around 10-35m/33-115ft. The dry season (November to June) is the dry season, which has better visibility than the rainy season (May to October). The season for hammerhead sharks is January to April, and manta rays appear from August to October. Currents are usually mild, but can occasionally be strong. The rich and varied marine life includes numerous beautiful creatures such as schools of hammerhead sharks, gray reef sharks, silvertip sharks, manta rays, spiny fish, butterflyfish, and schools of trevallies, barracudas, and miniature redfish. Divers will be inspired with incredible caves, wrecks, drop-offs, and even aircraft bombs at some sites.
