When to go to Puerto de Mogan

Diving is possible all year round with the average water temperature of 22C/71F. The high diving season is from May to September. The amount of rainfall slightly increases from November to March. The average air temperature remains very consistent throughout the seasons ranging between 24C/75F and 26C/79F in the summer and 17C/62F- 20C/68F in the winter. Visibility ranges between 10-40m/32-131ft. Currents are usually low.

 

What to see

There is a wide variety of marine life in the local waters, including soft corals, large shoals of barracuda, roncadoras, anemones, manta rays, puffer fish, moray eels, scorpion fish, trumpet fish, angel sharks and many others.

Scuba diving in Puerto de Mogan

Puerto de Mogan, situated on the south-west coast, is a picturesque resort and fishing village on the Gran Canaria island,.in 53 km from Gran Canaria airport. Puerto de Mogan is often described as ‘Little Venice’ as there is a network of canals and bridges. There are lots of entertainment venues: sport-fishing excursions, submarine trips round a local wrecks, dolphin-spotting trips, etc. With the crystal clear waters and a abundance of marine life there are perfect conditions for snorkelers and divers of all diver levels. There are sheltered bays and coves, perfect for beginners, as well as caves, impressive rock formations or deeper wrecks suited for more experienced divers.
