Frequently Asked Questions About Similan Diving Safaris
What are the usual gateway ports for these itineraries?
Similan Diving Safaris itineraries keep logistics simple and sea days generous. In Thailand, departures often leave from Phuket and trips typically conclude in Phuket. Routes can shift with the season.
What’s the recommended background for a week at sea with Similan Diving Safaris?
Plan on Open Water (or equivalent) with ~30 logged dives. You’ll ease through mellow sites early on and build towards more dynamic passes as conditions invite.
What guide‑to‑guest ratio do you operate with during dives?
Day to day 4 divers per guide, balanced for clear comms and easy spacing, giving photographers room while the group keeps its rhythm.—well suited to Thailand itineraries starting near Phuket.

Great Experience
We are more than grateful for our wonderful time on the Dolphin Queen.
The atmosphere with Joy and the whole team is so familiar that we felt very comfortable and at home. Our dive guide Rick looked after us perfectly, took very good care of us and also repaired my fin super quickly when it broke.
Thanks to the good planning, we were alone at many spots and saw sharks, rays, schools of barracuda and, above all, beautiful, intact reefs.
The food was great and we grew fond not only of the crew but also of the other guests. We look forward to seeing you again.

Great Liveaboard in the Similans. Don’t miss!
Great Liveaboard. Cabins are quite small but still good. Food was amazing as were the guides. Loved every second of it.
