The Sapodilla Cayes sit in far southern Belize, close to the country’s outer reef frontier. Diving here feels more remote, with coral reefs, clear Caribbean water, and a sense of distance from the busier northern cayes.
What to see
Coral gardens, sponges, sea fans, snappers, grunts, parrotfish, angelfish, rays, nurse sharks, turtles, and reef sharks may be seen. Remote reef edges may also attract jacks and barracuda.
When To Go Diving
December to May is generally the most reliable period for calmer seas and visibility. Water temperatures are usually around 26–29°C, with offshore visibility often very good in settled weather.
