Punta Azul Canyons is a northern Ambergris Caye canyon site, known by local operators and dive listings. Its appeal comes from the barrier reef’s natural cuts, where coral walls and sandy passages create a varied route.
What to see
Expect reef fish, snappers, grunts, angelfish, parrotfish, sponges, sea fans, nurse sharks, rays, and turtles. Canyons may also hold lobsters, crabs, and small moray eels.
When To Go Diving
December to May is generally the strongest period for visibility and calm conditions. Water is warm year-round, usually around 26–29°C.
