Cozumel is an island in the Caribbean Sea, located off the eastern coast of the Yucatán Peninsula. Cozumel International Airport is located here. Cozumel is a popular scuba diving and snorkeling destination. It has earned a great reputation among divers from all over the world for its breathtaking coral reefs, impressive coral walls, huge canyons, pinnacles, swim-throughs, caves, tunnels and an incredibly diverse marine life.

 

Most popular dive sites

Sites of Cozumel are mostly in close proximity to the island itself and are appropriate for all experience levels. There are over 30 sites around the island, and the majority of them are situated along the west coast and southern end of the island. Some of the must see sites include Santa Rosa Wall, Chankanaab, Punta Sur and Palancar Reefs - all situated within the Cozumel Reefs National Marine Park. For those who enjoy wreck diving, C-53/ Felipe Xicotencatl will be perfect. East side of the island offers shallower diving on "micro atolls", elkhorn coral gardens and swim-throughs. The sea floor in this area is peppered with ship remains, anchors, cannons and countless cannonballs.
