Hanauma Bay, on Oahu, is a protected volcanic bay known for shallow reefs and abundant fish. It is more snorkel-friendly than adventurous, with strong educational and conservation value.
What to see
Reef fish, butterflyfish, tangs, parrotfish, wrasse, turtles where present, coral patches, moray eels, and shallow reef life may be seen.
When To Go Diving
Best in calm conditions, often May to October, though access and conservation rules should always be checked. Water is generally around 24–28°C.
