All about Gamul Kebir dive site
Gamul Kebir is one of Safaga’s classic reef dives, known for a broad coral garden and relaxed profile. It offers the softer side of Red Sea diving, with sunlit coral blocks and plenty of fish movement over sandy areas.
What to see
Look for hard coral gardens, pinnacles, anthias, masked butterflyfish, surgeonfish, parrotfish, blue-spotted rays, moray eels, and lionfish. Turtles may pass through the reef area.
When To Go Diving
March–May and September–November are usually ideal, while summer offers the warmest water. Water ranges roughly from 21°C in winter to 29–30°C in summer, with visibility often 20–40 metres.
