Manta Bowl
Manta Bowl is a dive site in Philippines that can be caracterized by a large depression in a shape of a bowl spreading for a long distance. The current can be strong and come from all directions. This dive site is a well-known cleaning station for manta rays, where they get helped out by cleaner wrasses. Some of the larger ones can be over 9m/30ft long.
When To Go Diving
Manta Bowl is available for diving only from December till June, even though manta rays can be seen at all times. The water is typicaly around 26-28C/85-92F, while the air temperature often reaches 27-30C/89-98F.
What to see
In addition to numerous mantas, it is possible to see feeding whales, thresher and hammerhead sharks as well as barracudas and snappers. There is not that many smaller species to observe around Manta Bowl because of its sandy bottom, but larger fish make quite a show to watch.
