With the maximum depth of only 12m/39ft, this dive site will charm divers of all levels of experience giving them a chance to explore some interesting reef passages and coral formations. Sun light has its own special role in the creation of the ambiance of this dive. The reef also attracts visitors who come to look at the staghorn coral (Acropora cervicornis) growing here in abundance. While swimming among schools of beautiful blue tang fish, in addition to the usual array of reef fish of all shapes and colors, divers understand why tourists flock to Dominican Republic from all over the world. Because of the strong currents and choppy waves, the best period to dive at Cuevitas is from April to November.
