When to go to Playas del Coco
Diving here is possible all year round. The warm season lasts from late February to mid-May. Ambient temperature during the sumer is about 93F/34C. The cool season lasts from late September to mid-November. Ambient temperature during the winter season is around 86F/30C. Dry season lasts from April to November. The mean sea temperature during the dry season is around 81F/27C, and during the rainy season the temperature lowers to around 77F/25C. Hurricanes are possible during the rainy season. The water visibility ranges from 6m/20 ft to 35m/115ft. The variation is due to fluctuating levels of plankton in the water. And during the dry season one can spot manta rays.

The abundant sea life in the waters near Playas del Coco is represented by a wide variety of underwater creatures including white-tipped reef sharks, bull sharks, leatherback, pacific green and hawksbill turtles, giant manta rays, eagle rays, cow-nosed rays, diamond stingrays, octopus and huge schools of fish of different shapes and colors.
