How to get to the Playa Hermosa
Playa Hermosa is a small beach town on the North Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, about 18mi/30km west from Liberia. This is a very popular resort among those who want to get away from crowded areas. The underwater landscape consists of volcanic pinnacles, cliffs and rock formations. Sea life is incredibly rich. Divers can discover a large variety of species of marine animals from large pelagic to small nudibranch. Colorful corals of different shapes shelter large schools of tropical fish. Diving at Catalina Islands and Bat Islands will be interesting for experienced divers who may be challenged by some storng currents. It is also a great place for wreck diving. Playa Hermosa has more than 20 dive sites. Some of those dive sites are The Wall, The Point, Big Scare, Sorpresa and Tiburones. White-tipped reef sharks, bull sharks, leatherback, pacific green, hawksbill turtles, giant manta rays, eagle rays, cow-nosed rays, diamond stingrays, octopus and large schools of tropical fish can be spotted here.
