LIVEABOARD DIVING IN Bogota

Bogota is the Capital of Colombia, located in the center of the country on a vast plain at 2,600m above sea level. El Dorado International Airportis located there. The nearest spots for diving are in Chocó province and include such sites as Bahía Solano, El Valle and Nuquí, which is good for diving, surfing and kayaking. Bahia Solano is a place with quiet, pristine beaches and beautiful marine wildlife populating local coral reefs. There are many good places for diving, but the best one nearby is Playa Huína - a ship which survived the attack of Pearl Harbor sank, creating an artificial reef. There is a wide variety of marine life, particularly large groupers, some reaching 2m long, and other large fish such as giant trevalley and even tuna. Nearby rocky reefs attract a lot of life including parrotfish, trumpetfish, lobsters. The Gorgona Island, also a great diving destination, is located a bit further off the coast. Gorgona Island, being a protected national park territory, offers great diving opportunities as well as whale watching. Its most popular sites include caves where divers can seek out dolphins. Best dive sites are Tiburonera, El Planchon and Montañitas 2.
