Cannery Bank is one of Utila’s seamount-style dives, with raised reef structure that attracts fish life and larger visitors. It has a more offshore, energetic profile than the island’s shallow reef slopes.
What to see
Nurse sharks may be seen, along with snappers, groupers, jacks, black durgon triggerfish, reef fish, lettuce sea slugs, sponges, and possible rays or turtles.
When To Go Diving
Best conditions are generally from March to August, with calm seas important for seamount dives. Water is usually around 24–29°C, and visibility is often good to excellent.
