LIVEABOARD DIVING IN Placencia

Placencia is located in 27km/16mi form North Placencia International Airport. Most of the diving in this region is done from offshore cayes (cays or keys) surrounded by small reefs, usually with gently-sloping drop-offs of about 80-100ft/24-30m. Near Moho Caye, southeast of Placencia, divers may find brilliant red-and-yellow corals and sponges that rarely appear elsewhere in Belize. Two marine reserves off Placencia –the Laughing Bird Caye and the Gladden Spit & Silk Cayes Marine Reserves– are popular snorkeling and diving spots with an abundance of marine life.
