Batu Suya is a dive site near Palu in Indonesia that is characterized by a vertical drop-off and an interesting coral reef formation. The reef is patchy and the bottom is rocky, which creates shelters for different marine species. There are some beautiful overhangs and swim-throughs at this site.

When To Go Diving

It is possible to dive at Batu Suya throughout the year, but the period from March to December has the best diving conditions. The rainy season is from January to February. The water temperature ranges from 27-30C/81-86F, while the air is usually 28C/82F.

What to see

Batu Suya has many hiding spots for nudibranchs, fusiliers, crabs, and small tropical fish. Larger species include grouper, angelfish, snapper, eels, scorpionfish, trevallies, and triggerfish.
