All about Batu Merah dive site
Batu Merah, meaning “red rock,” suggests a volcanic reef or dark-sand site with coloured rock and coral patches. It has a strong North Sulawesi feel, mixing reef fish with macro subjects.
What to see
Reef fish, nudibranchs, shrimps, crabs, moray eels, scorpionfish, soft corals, sponges, and occasional turtles may be seen.
When To Go Diving
April to November often brings better visibility, though the site may be dived year-round. Water is typically 27–29°C.
