All about Avatoru Pass dive site
Avatoru Pass is one of Rangiroa’s two major passes, known for current, clear water, and large marine life. It is a classic Tuamotu drift environment, more advanced than lagoon sites.
What to see
Grey reef sharks, manta rays, dolphins in the wider area, barracuda, jacks, eagle rays, turtles, and schooling fish may be seen.
When To Go Diving
May to October often brings excellent visibility, while incoming tide is usually preferred for clear pass dives. Water is generally 26–29°C.
