LIVEABOARD DIVING IN Turtle Cove

RECOMMENDED AIRPORT
Turtle Cove is located on the central north coast of Providenciales. A lively area with restaurants and bars, it is home to the popular Turtle Cove Marina complex, a modern, well-protected facility with 65 deep-water slips, Provo’s port of entry. Several diving and water sports agencies operate around the marina. The cove is just a short walk from the beach around Smith’s Reef, located in the Princess Alexandra National Park. Smith’s Reef is an excellent snorkeling area with 3 access areas and fascinating marine life, including brain and fan corals, purple gorgonians, anemones, hawksbill turtles, sea cucumbers, anemones, green parrotfish, and stingrays. The corals, sea fans, sponges and other sessile animals tend to be in healthier conditions than at most of the other easily accessed snorkeling sites on Providenciales, but the current can be fairly strong. Another site is are Aquarium, characterized by a wall full of holes and crevices (max. depth 30m/98ft), which is right off Bight Beach/Bight Reef (locally as Coral Gardens). The nearest spot for diving with lots of dive sites is Grace Bay.
