When to go to Khao Lak
From November to March the weather conditions are optimal for diving with the average daytime temperature staying around 28C/82F degrees. The water in the period from November to March warms up to 25C/77F-28C/82F degrees. The rain season begins in June and ends in October.
What to see
The local waters are teeming with various sea life including schools of puffers, several species of eels, illusive lionfish, hundreds of shrimps, leopard sharks and plenty more.
Scuba diving in Khao Lak
Khao Lak is situated on the west coast of Thailand's mainland. Krabi Airport is located in 145km/90mi from it. Scuba diving in these waters is spectacular. On the western coast, at the depth of 30m/98ft-40m/131ft, fabulous underwater gardens with bouquets of various coral including some rare types of soft corals, like peacock tail, can be found.
