When to go to Taurito

Taurito has a typically Mediterranean climate and diving can be done all year round. The high diving season is considered to be from May to September. The rain generally falls between December and February. The water temperature ranges from 18C/64F during the colder months to 23C/73F during the warm season. The average air temperature is about 17C/62F in the winter and around 25C/77F in the summer. The visibility varies from 10-30C/32-98F.


What to see

There are different species of fish including roncador, sardine, trumpet fish, gardfish, wide-eyed flounder, scorpion, lizardfish, cuttlefish and octopus.

Scuba diving in Taurito

Taurito is a resort located on the southwest coast of Gran Canary Island. Gran Canaria airport is located in 52 km from it. There is a 150m/492ft-long black volcanic sand beach, some hotels stacked up the sides of the rugged volcanic cliffs, and many other types of entertainment, including the Playa Taurito Lido waterpark. Nearby there are other interesting resorts like Playa Mogán, with its picturesque canals and bridges, and Puerto Rico. The waters around Taurito offer great diving opportunities for both novice and experienced divers. Here divers can explore amazing rock formations, wonderful canyons, and caves.
