How to get to the Arguineguin
Arguineguín is one of the most populated towns along the south coast of Gran Canaria. Gran Canaria airport is located in 41 km from it. Arguineguín has a beach and a port. Tourism is not as popular here compared to the neighboring places like Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés, but there are several hotels, bars, and restaurants that specialize in fresh fish caught the same day. Scuba divers can also enjoy the crystal-clear waters, rich marine life, and the variety of dive sites located nearby.
Worth visiting dive sites nearby are Arguineguin Reef, Artificial Reef, Reef Pasito Blanco, Chucho Rif, El Pajar. A popular dive site is Arguineguín Reef. The reef runs lengthwise from east to west for almost 0.7km/0.4mi with a deep overhang which is home to the rare and elusive porcupine or large puffer fish, measuring up to one meter in length.
