When to go to Cala Figuera

Cala Figuera has a typical Mediterranean climate. Diving is possible all year round, although the high diving season is between the months of June and October. Cala Figuera gets little rain year round, and the rainiest period is from October to March. The air temperature ranges from 11-26C/51-78F, and the water temperature varies from 14C/57F in the winter months to 26C/78F in the summer months. Visibility is between 20-40m/65-131ft.The currents are mostly slight.


What to see

The most common marine species here are groupers, morays, octopi, barracudas, goatfish, cardinalfish, and snails.

The sites that shouldn't be missed include Cala Sa Nau and some located a bit further away: Three Caves, El Toro, Isla del Sec, and Column wreck (depth of 14m/47ft).

Scuba diving in Cala Figuera

Cala Figuera is a district in Santanyí on the southeast coast of Mallorca Island, around 60 km to the southeast of Palma. Palma de Mallorca Airport is located in 53 km. The traditional town was first mentioned in documentation in 1306, but the first houses were built in the area in the end of the 19th century. It is not a crowded destination, because Cala Figuera does not have tourist beaches, but there are lots of hotels nearby. There are some very scenic traditional buildings, as well as a number of millionaires' mansions overlooking the port of Cala Figuera. The main activity is fishing, and there are 111 berths for small boats. The waters near Cala Figuera have excellent visibility and a variety of marine life. Scuba divers will enjoy diving in the waters close to the town and the diving trips to stunning dive sites. The underwater world gives divers an opportunity to explore beautiful walls, reefs, caves, wrecks, and tunnels.
