Pulau Mioswaar, in Cenderawasih Bay, offers remote island reef diving in a region famous for whale shark encounters elsewhere in the bay. The site itself is best treated as a reef and island-slope dive.
What to see
Reef fish, hard corals, soft corals, turtles, rays, nudibranchs, and schooling fish may be seen. Whale sharks are possible in the wider region, not guaranteed at every site.
When To Go Diving
Cenderawasih Bay can be dived much of the year, with conditions often locally sheltered. Water is generally around 27–30°C.
