The best dive sites are Tongo pointKasai PointPescador IslandSunken IslandThe House Reef. The depth varies, depending of the dive site. Pescador Island, about 3 km off the coast, is the most popular dive spot. The structure of the reef that follows the entire coast line has made the place ideal for scuba diving, snorkeling and free diving. Divers can enjoy easy access to the reef since the drop off is shallow and close to shore but then drops down to 40m/131ft.

Scuba diving in Moalboal

Moalboal is a fourth class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines. It is a small town and is about 90km or two and a half hours drive from Cebu City where the closest airport is located. Moalboal has developed a tourism industry based on recreational diving and beaches. It is easily reached by road from Cebu and then a short journey by trike to Panagsama Beach. In Moalboal most tourists stay at either Panagsama Beach (Basdiot) or White beach (Basdako). White Beach is known for its fine sand and crystal clear water. There is plenty of accommodations near either beach, although Panagsama has the most bars and restaurants. Panagsama was originally a small fishing village and has now developed into a tourist destination. It is home to some splendid marine life including colorful corals, anemone, sponges and reef fish. The reefs along the west coast of the Copton Peninsula are home to a great variety of marine life, from very small nudibranchs to very big whale sharks. Moalboal, thankfully, is spared from dynamite fishing and the corals are some of the best in the world. There are many dive sites which are great for novice as well as experienced divers.
