Davao City is located on the southeastern portion of Mindanao. It is considered one of the most livable cities in Asia and included in the top 10 Asian cities by Foreign Direct Investment Magazine (FDI). Davao is famous for many things including eagles, gold, beautiful attractions, landscapes and white sandy beaches. There are numerous parks and conservation centers to visit. The night life offers jazz clubs, piano bars, excellent restaurants, concerts, festivals and night clubs. There are multistory malls and markets for tourists to visit. The city is serviced by an international airport. Divers come here to enjoy the ambience of the place as well as observe impressive marine life which includes many beautiful and unique corals and colorful fish that live among them. The popular dive sites are Angels Cove, Coral Garden Davao, Isla Reta, Ligid Caves, Mansoud Wall and Marissa. Diving in Angels Cove is very interesting and can be done from a boat. The average depth of the site is 45m/147.6ft. Mansud Wall, another popular site, starts as a slope and drops down to about 10m/33ft. It features whip corals, gorgonians, large sponges and soft corals populated with lionfish, razor fish, juvenile sweet-lips, sea snakes, colorful reef fish and sometimes visited by turtles and whale sharks. Coral Garden is a favorite dive site among the locals as well as coming tourists. It is also called “Linosutan”. It is relatively shallow, the average depth here is 20m/66ft. Diving in Davao is open to divers of all levels of experience.
