When to go to Coron

Diving is possible all year round. The coldest time is November through February and the warmest is March through June. The average temperature stays between 23C/73F and 36C/96F. The average water temperature ranges from 21C/68F to 28C/82F. The underwater visibility is from 7m/23ft to 20m/66ft. The water is mostly calm.


What to see

All dive sites have a great variety of marine life including big groupers, schools of tuna, yellow fin, lion fish, scorpion fish, jacks, snappers, surgeon fish, barracudas, Spanish mackerels, beautiful rays, white tip sharks and more.

Scuba diving in Coron

Coron is a first class municipality in the province of Palawan, Philippines. Coron Island is the third largest island in the Calamian group. Francisco B Reyes Airport is located there. Coron is one of the most visited destinations for wreck diving in the Philippines. The sunken Japanese ships of Coron Island are listed in Forbes Traveler Magazine as top 10 best scuba diving sites in the world. The wreck sites vary, from shallow, around 3-9m/10–30ft to deep, 37-43m/120–140ft. These dive sites are ideal for both day and night dives and are also great for underwater photography. Because of the variety of dive sites diving in this area is suitable for novice as well as experienced divers.


Most popular dive sites

The best wreck sites are considered Okikawa Maru, Akitsushima Wreck, Irako wreck, Kogyo Maru, as well as Olympia Maru and Kyokuzan Maru. Not only wrecks can be found here, the area also features caves, coves, lakes, reefs and cliffs. Other famous dive sites are Barracuda Lake, Kalambuyan Reef and Seven Islands reef.
