How to get to the Badian

Badian is a third class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines. The town is subdivided into 29 barangays (districts) and the capital barangay of Badian town is Poblacion. It is bounded on the north by the municipality of Moalboal; on the south by the municipality of Alegria; on the east by the municipalities of Dalaguete and Argao; and on the west by Tanon Strait. The closest airport is Mactan-Cebu, that is located in 120 km. The topography of the area is mountainous and hilly. There are a lot of different attractions and activities in Badian. The colorful Banig Festival is held during the town fiesta, 24th and 25th of July every year. Besides the fantastic Kawasan Falls in Matutinao area, the island is also home to excellent diving and snorkeling areas that are famous in Cebu, Philippines. Pescador Island offers fantastic corals and marine life for divers of all levels. There is also Lambug Beach located within a ten minute ride from town, or just minutes from town crab hunting on the Mangroves. About 10km/6mi away is the neighboring municipal of Moalboal which also boasts its own attractions.

The worth visiting sites in the area include Pescador Island, Tongo Point, Sunken Island. The nearest dive sites are Coral Gardens, Garden Eels, Badian Wall, Fisherman’s Cave and Sawang. The current is a bit strong in Badian Wall and the Fisherman’s Cave and they both are about 10 to 15 minutes away by boat, toward north and northwest side of the island. The two sites also have a shelf that begins at 3-4m/10-13ft and then drops off to 30-40m/98-131ft. Both sites are perfect for night diving.
