Port of Alotau

Port of Alotau is located in the south-east of Papua New Guinea. The closest airport is in Gurney that is located in 12 km. Alotau is the gateway to Milne Bay, a famous destination among scuba divers. Coming here divers of all levels can discover great reef and muck diving as well as a variety of wrecks. Among local marine species divers can spot numerous nudibranchs, seahorses, frogfish, ghost pipefish, stonefish, pygmy seahorses, stargazers and quite a few more. When staying in Alotau it is possible to dive East Cape, Sullivan’s Patches, Banana Bommie and Cobb’s Cliff as well as the wreckage of Blackjack and the B17 bomber.
