Frequently Asked Questions About Ocean Hunter

Where do most sailings embark and disembark?

Routes with Ocean Hunter balance easy gateways with long stretches of open blue. In Palau, departures often leave from Koror and trips typically conclude in Koror. Routes can shift with the season.

Which certification level fits these itineraries best?

Advanced Open Water (or equivalent) with ~25 logged dives is a comfortable baseline. The team shapes profiles so newer skills bed in while experienced divers still get their thrills.

How is the number of divers per guide arranged on trips?

Groups are sized for the site—compact in lively channels, looser on garden reefs, always with clear lines of sight to the guide. Briefings flag any changes before the splash.

Good diving
Staff keeps the cabins presentable, but they’re very dusty and the beds are thin. One guide (Epi) was great and very helpful in spotting nudibranch and other little aquatic creatures the other one couldn’t have cared less (Jerwin). Food was mostly American cuisine and both decent and plentiful. Captain was efficient and courteous. Diving was good, but not worth doing more than once.

One of the Best!
This was my second trip with Ocean Hunter III because I had such a great experience the first time. I wasn't disappointed. It was the same crew as 3 years ago and that speaks volumes about the operation. I've done liveaboards in Fiji, the Bahamas, and the Philippines and found the experience with Fish 'n Fins the best overall. While most crews will try to satisfy you, the OH crew work hard to anticipate your needs and are EAGER to help in any way possible. Everyone with me felt like part of the family early into the trip. And the FOOD!!! Simply incredible food. I did 4 and 5 dives a day and still gained weight. Tova has put together a fantastic team. I cannot emphasize enough how special we all felt. This is nothing like other liveaboards which focus on cramming as many people as possible onto one boat. It's a little more expensive but you get so much more. Absolutely worth it.
