Tofo

Tofo is a small town situated in the province of Inhambane, in southeastern Mozambique. The closest airport is Inhambane Airport that is located in 10 km. There are two beaches, Tofo Beach and Tofinho. Tofo Beach is a great swimming beach, and it has the boat launch area for the diving and fishing charters. Tofo is one of the best diving destinations in the world. With the warm waters and abundance of sea life that inhabit the coral reefs, it is also a world-famous destination for seeing whale sharks and manta rays (including the giant manta ray) year round. Most popular dive sites There are more than 17 dive sites for all experience levels, but most of them are more suitable for experienced divers. Sites range in depth from 12-15m/39-49ft (closer into shore), and the ones with the best manta cleaning stations are all located offshore with depth profiles of 20-30m/65-98ft. The best sites here are the Manta Reef, Amazon (the most challenging site with a max. depth of 30m/98ft), Praia Da Rocha, Office, Salon. Manta Reef (depth 19-26m/62-85ft) is world-famous for the 3 Manta cleaning stations where up to two dozen Mantas come to have small reef fish remove parasites and dead skin.
