Diving in Cabo Pulmo is year-round. Summer is the best time; in September there occasional hurricanes are possible. Water temperatures average around (60-85F/16-19C, with visibility around 15-90ft/5-27m and an average depth of 25-60ft/8-18m.

Cabo Pulmo is a quiet village surrounded by mountains and a popular place for diving and snorkeling. Because of Cabo Pulmo’s spectacular living coral reefs and marine life, the reef system has been protected since 1995, when the area became Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park. The reefs are home to different species of tropical fish, groupers, cabrilla, sergeant majors, angelfish, pufferfish and grunts, lobsters, eels, whale sharks, porpoises, manta rays, large schools of jacks, etc. The most popular dive sites in the Cabo Pulmo area are: El Bajo de los Meros, El Cantil, El Islote, El Vencedor, Las Casitas, Outer Pulmo Coral Reef, Sea Lion Colony and Colima Wreck.
